Salvation

No doubt you have heard the word salvation. Its meaning is clear however so many misunderstand it. Salvation is God's plan to provide us an escape from the consequences of sin. (John 1:29). That’s why Jesus came to earth, died and was resurrected. (John 3:16).

Being “saved” or “born again” is definitely the most important experience of your life. And it is for everyone, it’s free (John 6:28) and you can have it now.

The word “salvation” comes from the Greek word “sotera” which means saved, healed, delivered, pardoned, rescued, protected, preserved, made whole, cured, set-free and restored.

Many people think salvation is confirmation, church membership, water baptism, taking communion, going to church, observing religious holidays and rituals, praying, reading the Bible, memorizing creeds or doing good deeds. These describe more what many saved people do but it doesn’t describe salvation.

Salvation is for those who admit they are a sinner and want to be forgiven, who believe that Jesus died for their sins and was raised for the same, are willing to ask Jesus to be Lord of their lives, and will confess with their mouths and believe in their hearts that these things are true.

If you pray those words and believe, you are saved… right here and right now. You are a new creature, old things have passed away and all things are made new. You might feel the same, but you are not the same. (2 Corinthians 5)

We are excited for you! When you ask Christ to come into your heart and life, you are a child of God. Your sins are forgiven. You are a member of God’s family and His friend, and the Holy Spirit dwells within you to lead you and guide you in everything you do. The Christian life is a personal relationship with God through His son, Jesus, the Christ. You can now talk to God anytime, anywhere about anything..
